Rocker and Hooker is another amazing unisex Japanese clothing line based out of Tokyo. They have a shop in Naka-Meguro which is just two stops away from Shibuya on the Tokyu Touyoko line. The first video is from the Rocker & Hooker show during last month’s fashion week in Tokyo. The second is an interview with Rocker and Hooker designer Keisuke Nakano.
The legendary Chicago house producer and remixer will be making, what seems to be a biannual pilgrimage to Japan next month. Naturally, as it is for every great DJ/producer of our time, a night at Space Lab Yellow in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo is on tap. Be there to hear a sweet blend of deep, funky and acid house beats from a man whose been jackin’ packed-out dance floors worldwide for over twenty years. ¥3500 gets you in for the big show.
Here’s another fab suggestion for your book collection, Haunted paradise: The Art of Glenn Barr. Filled with beautiful 60s inspired renditions of robots, hot babes and odd creatures it would be a well-timed addition for Halloween. Check it out at Borders or Borders’ website, they have a hardcover edition available for under $35. Dope.
I’ve been thinking about buying myself something nice lately. I was heavily leaning towards buying a Wii, but after seeing these on Gucci’s website I may go with shoes instead. For $475 this could definitely happen. I think a person can skimp on a lot of things. You can pretty much get away with were all sorts of stuff. Like ratty jeans you haven’t washed in three weeks. One thing you absolutely can not skimp on is a good pair of shoes. You can throw on those ratty ass jeans and look great with a fly pair of shoes. They also have amazing pairs for women. But you already knew that. It is Gucci after all.
With her concert coming up next week at Shibuya O-East, I have found the cheap excuse I’ve been searching for to post one of Leah Dizon’s videos without feeling like some 変態おたく (pervy fanboy). AND I even found one with subtitles. How about that. Enjoy.
Damn, I love Interpol. They have been so good, so consistent since their first EP. I think this was a really good choice for the next single from their current CD, Our Love To Admire. Enjoy.
Tom Mello, Scott Richmond & GBH been producing hot parties in New York City longer than I can tell you. I can’t tell you because I can’t remember much from them. They were all a blur. Even back then. Alcohol-induced amnesia aside, I’m sure their event next Saturday at New York City’s smoking hot Rebel nightclub (251 west 30th street between 7th & 8th avenues) will the equal of its many predecessors.
Tom Mello & GBH have always brought out the creme de la creme of the city’s partiers and music industry elite on their own. When they come together and add the promotional might of Satellite Records, you know nobody’s going to miss it. One thing is for certain, no many how drinks you gulp down, a good time will be had by all. Especially with my man Felix Da Housecat on the 1-and-2s.
On November 7th, about a thousand Tokyo boys (and a few girls, too) will finally see the fulfillment a dream. I’m not talking about Bape, or any new video game or gaming system, or some cool, new manga hitting the streets. No.They’ll get the chance to see gravure/pin-up model turned J-pop singer, Leah Dizon in the flesh. Three-dimensional. Animated, moving around. Not in a magazine, on t.v. or a website. The real deal. If you’re in Tokyo, you get to witness all the ensuing mass-hysteria as the French/Chinese/Filipino mixed bombshell takes the stage for the very first time. If, as I mentioned, you are in Tokyo or any other part of Japan, for that matter, you know well how popular the nubile starlet is. Surprisingly, she is actually a pretty good singer. All that and talent too. You know what… I think those Japanese boys know what’s up. For information call Kyodo at 03-3498-9999. Tickets are a paltry ¥3,500. That’s like the cost of a few pervy magazines.
