If you are a big fan of deep, soulful house music, like myself, chances are you’re already familiar with the DJ and producer, Osunlade. Osunlade is originally from St. Louis. but, I was fortunate enough to meet and work with him while he called New York City home during the years he built a name for himself. After New York, he moved to Puerto Rico and now calls Santorini, Greece his home. I can tell you first hand, you’re not likely to meet an individual as kind and spiritual as this musician & African priest.
From tracks like “Don’t Change” to “New Day” to the “Elements Beyond, Pt.1″ long play, Osunlade’s soulfulness and spirituality are quite clear. If you’d like to get a taste of what his sets sound like, check out internet radio station Samurai FM. They also have a recorded interview. You can stop by Beatport, Amazon.com or iTunes to pick up some of his incredible tracks and remixes. iTunes also has a podcast of his Yoruba Soul Radio show and a video podcast of a DJ set he did with Franck Roger listed under The 5 Beats Video Podcast, which is free and definitely worth checking out. If you are fortunate enough to hear of him playing in your city or town, then by all means necessary, catch his show.
